11th: The Princess and the Pea

There was once a prince who wanted to marry a real princess. He traveled all around the world for seeking such a one. But he couldn't meet the person with who he could be satisfied.

One evening, a terrible storm came on. In the midst of it, someone knocked the town gate. The old king went out to open it, and there was a princess. But he didn't find whether she was a real princess. So the old queen went into the bed room and took off all the bedding without saying. Then she laid a pea on the sacking of the bedstead. After that, she laid twenty mattresses upon the pea and placed twenty eider-down beds on top of the mattresses. The princess laid upon this bed all the night. The next morning, she was asked whether she could had slept well. She answered that she couldn't sleep because there was something hard. It became so quite evident that she was a real princesses. Therefore, the prince married with her.
